From Russian Anzacs in Australian History:
Two former seamen, Nicholas Kotzebue and Nicolas Rehrick, both from the Baltic region, served on the Western Front with the Intelligence Police [...]. Rehrick, characterised by an Australian police inspector as ‘an alert, intelligent man, of High School education in Latvia’, joined the Intelligence Police after studying at the 5th Division Intelligence school in July 1917. He successfully served in the Intelligence Police until he was severely wounded for the second time, in May 1918.
