Just a quick update. We've been working hard on new material these last few weeks. So far we've come up with 4 new songs, but no lyrics left. Were tossing around a few ideas for the next album, but were looking at something really epic.

I have recently put together a studio in my new house, so all future Grave Forsaken albums can be recorded there. This will help financially as producing albums is the biggest cost we face.

We're looking to secure some gigs over the following months - our aim is to organise one gig a month on average, plus any other gigs we get offered. If you want us to play at your church or youth club, please email us and we'll see what we can do.

Like I said, only a quick update today - you'll hear from us again soon!

16/7/08 - G'day Grave Forsaken fans, Vaughan here. I'm thrlled to be able to give you this update. It's been a huge couple of months for Grave Forsaken months. Firstly, on June 6th my wife gave to birth to our first child, Aaron Nicholas Gregory. We are extremely proud parents. He is 6 weeks old tomorrow, so life is starting to return a little to normal, though nowadays we have a new normal! Thanks to all our friends and fans who sent their congratulations when this great news was announced on the forums. It's good to bring another headbanger into the world.

The other amazing news is that our drummer and great friend Dave Kilgallon has joined Mortification! You may have already heard this news from the Mort site. For us in Grave Forsaken this is a huge honour. We have worn our Mortification influence proudly on our sleeves since day one, so to have one of our best friends join the band is mindblowing. The best part for Grave Forsaken fans is that Dave will continue to play and record with us. When offered the gig, none of us would have begrudged Dave moving interstate to join Mort, but he has decided to stay and fly in to join Steve and Mick when they play live and record. The best of both worlds! In the last few years we've formed a firm friendship with Mortification and I just want to give departing drummer Damien Percy my best wishes, I was lucky enough to hang out with Damien a few times and I found him to be such an honest and encouraging guy. Thanks for the conversations we had Damien - particularly the one after Blackstump last year. Your advice was invaluable.

Destined For Ascension shirts are now available from Soundmass and unDark stores. These are short sleeved black shirts with full colour Destined For Ascension artwork. Get yours today.

We have two gigs this weekend. First up at Serpentine-Jarrahdale Rec Centre on Friday night. Doors open 7.00pm. Then on Saturday night we are playing the Castle in Northbridge. We are on second in a strong local lineup. Please be praying for us during these gigs as we aim to get 50 people at each gig. The Friday night gig will be recorded, so if we play well enough it could be mixed and mastered into a live release. Also be praying we can make a good impression at the Castle. The Perth metal scene is so strong that we need to be at our best to assist getting further gigs. A huge thanks to Rowland Gwynne for putting on the gig and giving us the chance to play the show. We pretty much live to record and play, so we can't wait.

Well, that gets you up to date. Thanks for all your support. One thing I've always promised is that Grave Forsaken will be there for the long haul. We are called to do this and we are committed to rocking like Lemmy and Rolling Stones. We're never going to stop!

God Bless
Vaughan and Grave Forsaken

16/4/08 - Hello Grave Forsaken supporters! Thanks for the fantastic response to the new album "Destined For Ascension". Early feedback has been great, and it's awesome to know that many of you are rocking out to the album. Keep an eye out for reviews to start popping up around the place shortly. If you haven't got your copy yet, head over to Soundmass or Undark a pick yourself up one. you won't regret it!

We have a gig at the Castle in Northbridge this Saturday night the 19th. We would love to catch all the local Mosher Crew for the gig. Check the live shows page for more details.

If you want to hear Grave Forsaken on your local radio station and they don't have a copy, then email us their mailing address and we'll send them a promo copy. After that they've got no excuse! We're keen to get this new disc on as many radio stationsas we can.

We are currently working on our setlist and mucking around with some new material for a third album down the track. We are working hard to be the best possible band we can be and your continued prayer and support is appreciated.

God Bless and Rock On!

16/2/08 - Welcome to a big Grave Forsaken update. You will have noticed when you entered the site that we have unveiled the cover for our new album "Destined For Ascension". THe artwork was handled by our regular artist Ari. I'm sure you agree that he has once again done a fantastic job. It really captures the mood of the album.

The album is basically finished. It is getting mastered this weekend, and the layout is completely finished. We can announce that this album will be available for download from undark and itunes, so if that's the way you like to buy your music - it's there for you.

The album features very special guest cameo vocals by Steve Rowe of Mortification. He appears on the tracks "Eternal Destiny" and "The Road To Damascus". When you hear the songs you will recognise his voice instantly!

While we've got momemtum, we've started writing material for a follow up to "Destined For Ascension". Having Dave drumming and Tim singing has given us fresh creative direction. The thing to remember is that we wrote most of the songs on "Destined For Ascension" during 2006 while we were still recording "Beside The River Of Blood". We demoed DFA way back in February last year and have been recording since May. In the meantime we have recruited Dave and switched Tim to vocals. In summary - we've got new stuff written already!

The album will be available from Soundmass and undark on March 26th. Early feedback we've received is that this album is a massive improvement over "Beside The River Of Blood". If you enjoy good old fashioned Christian metal with strong early 90's vibe, then we strongly recommend you check this out!

Around the time the album is released we will be unveiling full colour "Destined For Ascension" t-shirts, featuring Ari's awesome artwork. After selling out of all our previously clothing items, the time is right to unleash this new batch of shirts.

Once the album is released, we will be hitting the live scene again. Things have been very busy behind the scenes getting this album finalised. Once released, we can start booking more shows again. We can't wait to hit the stage again in earnest. We'll see you out there.

God Bless and Rock On!

9/1/08 - Welcome to the first update of 2008. We hope it will be a blessed year for you.

If you're a member of the Mosher Crew, you should have be receiving your Mosher Crew mailout any time now. It's packed with goodies - so enjoy. Remember, you can join the Mosher Crew for free right now - just email us.

Mixing is coming along nicely for the new album "Destined For Ascension". The booklet has been designed, and it looks fantastic. We've produced another 12 page extravaganza which we believe surpasses the "Beside The River Of Blood" booklet. The songs are sounding brutal during mixing - and we're really excited about the March 26th release.

The album artwork has arrived from Finland, and it's another Ari masterpiece. Keep you're eye on the site for a sneak peak in the coming weeks!

Don't forget to check out our myspace site for exclusive audio previews of the new album. Until next, God Bless and Mosh On!

23/12/07 - G'day again moshers. First of all, Grave Forsaken wishes to wish all our friends and supporters a very happy Christmas and new year. This Christmas, take the time to put aside your day to day concerns, and really enjoy just being with friends and family. It's hard to switch off sometimes, but it's always refreshing when you can.

2008 is set to be another big year for Grave Forsaken. We are pleased to confirm the title of our second Rowe Productions album will be "Destined For Ascension". The album will be released on March 26th 2008, and will be available through Soundmass and Undark, as well as other international retailers. This album draws on the classic early 90's sounds of heavyweights such as Mortification, Tourniquet and Deliverance. Stay tuned to this site and our myspace page for further details as the release date draws nearer.

Things are cranking with the new line up. We played a birthday party last Friday night, and we all agreed it was the tightest set we've ever played. We can't wait to write some new material for Dave's drumming and Tim's vocals in preparation for a third album down the track.

If you want to get even closer to the Grave Forsaken action - join the Mosher Crew. It's free and there's heaps of cool stuff you get. Not to mention the exclusive news and info only available to Mosher Crew members. So why wait! Join now.

God Bless and Rock On!

2/12/07 - Hi all - thanks for tuning in. Work is progressing well on the new album. Very soon we will announce a release date and title. This thing sounds awesome, if we don't say so ourselves. We really feel we have created an album that honours the Christian metal tradition of Tourniquet, Deliverance and Mortification. We're excited about unleashing this thing.

There is a gig next Saturday night at Warwick Leisure Centre. We're on at 10.30pm - so if you're a local mosher, we hope to see you there. For further details see the live shows page.

We are entering a very exciting phase with the impending release of the new album. If you haven't joined the Mosher Crew, now is definitely the time.

God Bless and Rock On!

10/10/07 - G'day again Mosher Crew! It's probably been the most hectic few weeks in Grave Forsaken history, but we're pleased to say that the east coast tour was an overwhelming success. It was insanely fun to hang with our mates in Fearscape, Mortification, Scourged Flesh and In Exordium. It truly will go down as a lifelong highlight.

So let's kick this update off. The "Horror And Sadness" single is now available from Soundmass.com and undark.net. The single is very reasonably priced so make sure you get a copy. It features 3 exclusive tracks that won't feature on the upcoming album. Already the single has been getting rave reviews for the huge musical and production advancement it represents. Get yours today!

Also available is the Grave Forsaken Mosher Crew hoodie. Featuring the skullwing logo on the front and the words "Grave Forsaken Mosher Crew" on the back, this is a great way to display your allegiance to Aussie Christian metal. The hoodies are available through undark.net at the moment, plus they will be on Soundmass.com in the coming days. For members of the Mosher Crew who preordered, your orders have been posted.

Some of you who saw us with Fearscape on tour may have noticed a Grave Forsaken influence during the Fearscape set. It was my (Vaughan) pleasure to be invited to play rhythm guitar for Fearscape for the two shows. I can honestly say this was a massive honour and privelage. It was great to play with such Christ focused musicians. I was blown away by their talent and professionalism, and I can guarantee the experience will help me with my playing and musical contribution to Grave Forsaken. Thanks guys! And now a quick plug - you simply must get your hands on a copy of the new Fearscape album "Scent Of Divine Blood". It is clearly their best work, and an essential piece of Aussie Christian metal. It truly represents the strength of the scene in 2007. Head over to undark.net for your copy.

And onto perhaps the biggest news in the history of Grave Forsaken. It's our utter pleasure and delight to welcome Dave Kilgallon into the band as our full time drummer.

You heard right - Dave Kilgallon, also of Scourged Flesh, has joined Grave Forsaken. Tim Steadman has handled drum duties since our formation in 2004, but he has decided that his calling and passion lies with vocals. Therefore Tim will now be the lead vocalist. Tim's vocals are showcased on our new single "Horror And Sadness", as well as first album track "Buried Alive". His Dave Mustaine like snarl has drawn much praise from fans and critics, so this switch will push us in in an even thrashier direction. For people who enjoy hearing all members of the band sing, never fear - myself, Elias and Matt will continue to contribute vocals to tracks as always - only now Tim will handle the majority of them in the same way as I've handled the majority of vocals up to now. We're certain this development will enhance the musical output of Grave Forsaken in a massive way.

In light of this announcement, we'd like to outline our plans for the next few months

The line up is now
Tim Steadman - Lead Vocals
Vaughan Gregory - Guitar/Vocals
Elias Salmela - Guitar/Vocals
Matt Skipworth - Bass/Vocals
Dave Kilgallon - Drums

Tim has already completed drums on the upcoming second album. All vocal tracks will be laid as planned prior to Dave joining - so the second album will still be an original line up album. We plan to get this out on Rowe Productions as soon as possible in the new year.

Dave will start drumming live with the band immediately - we will rehearse a new setlist and determine new vocal arrangements for existing songs that I have sung up until now (ie Death On The Cross, The North Wind).

Once the second album has been released, we will start writing new material with the new line up. All future recordings will feature the new line up.

And finally but importantly - Dave has not left Scourged Flesh. Dave will be the full time drummer in both bands. Dave joins Grave Forsaken with the total blessing of Todd and Scott from Scourged Flesh. In fact, their approval was essential in making this change. Grave Forsaken and Scourged Flesh will continue to gig together wherever possible (it's just that Dave will be twice as busy now!).

Well that's about it. Stay tuned to the forums for more news as it comes to hand. And if you haven't already - join the Mosher Crew!

9/9/07 - Hi all. Plans are well under way for our 2007 East Coast Assault with Scourged Flesh. Scourged Flesh will be launching their new album "Bury The Lies" at Stump - so look out for that one. We'll be releasing our new single "Horror And Sadness" at Stump through Rowe Productions. "Horror And Sadness" is a new track from our forthcoming second album, due in 2008. The single features the title track, plus "Buried Alive" from our debut "Beside The River Of Blood". The single is rounded out with 3 previously unreleased tracks. The first is a demo of crowd favourite "Light The Hall". This demo has been remastered by our producer Daniel Holmes - so it sounds great. Up next is new 2 minute thrasher "Temple Of The Blessed". Listen out for some insane double kick drumming on that one. Rounding out the single is a scorching live version of first album favourite "The North Wind". Join the Mosher Crew members as they chant out the "Christ is Lord" section. If you're a Grave Forsaken supporter, this release is truly not to be missed. Stay tuned for purchasing details in early October!

We're working on a very special surprise for Blackstump - and it's something you'll be hearing much more about later on this site. If you're a local Mosher Crew member you get your chance to see us along with Scourged Flesh and newcomers Septecemia at SJ Rock next Friday night. This show marks the start of our Australian tour. Check the live shows page for all details.

If you haven't joined the Mosher Crew yet - now is your chance. Simply email us at graveforsaken@argo.net.au with the subject "I wanna join the Grave Forsaken Mosher Crew". Membership is free, and there's no strings attached. Why wouldn't you join? Until next time moshers - God Bless and Rock On!

11/8/07 - G'day again. Thanks for checking the latest update. Plenty going on in the Grave Forsaken camp as usual. We're getting prepared for our East Coast tour. If you're in New South Wales or Victoria you don't want to miss our two shows. We're playing at the Blackstump Metal Night and also at the Pelly Bar in Melbourne. Both shows feature Scourged Flesh, Fearscape and Morification. It's an Aussie Christian metal feast! Check the live shows page for all the details.

We're working hard on some projects we hope to have ready in time for Blackstump. Stay tuned for details as we work on these exciting developments.

If you're a Perth mosher and can't make it to the East Coast dates, never fear. Grave Forsaken and Scourged Flesh are having a tour warm up at SJ Rock 2 on September 14th. Entry is only $5, so check the live shows page and come along for an evening of serious metal.

Thanks to everyone who came to check the Castle show last Saturday. It was particularly cool to hear Defect Notice and Belial. The guys in both bands were awesome dudes and played great sets. Belial are an awesome Death/Black metal band, who I think are the best Perth band I've heard playing that style.

Check out our myspace page at www.myspace.com/graveforsaken. Tim has been doing some great work on the site, and it is well worth a look.

Until next time God Bless and Rock On!

20/7/07 - Hey Moshers, thanks for checking back on us. I trust you're all doing well. I know that we at Grave Forsaken are. We've got a whole host of cool stuff in the pipeline.

We're pleased to announce we'll be playing our first ever show in Victoria during October. We'll be joining Mortification, Fearscape and Scourged Flesh for an all out metal assault. This carnage takes place on Friday October 5th, so if you in Melbourne, make sure you check it out. Check the live shows page for further details as they come to hand. This show comes the week after our second appearance at the Blackstump Festival. It is an honour and a privelage to be playing alongside our metal brothers at both shows.

Thank you for the phenomenal response we've had to our new myspace track "Warriors Of Light". Remember, this is just a demo. The album version will have far superior production.

While the next album won't surface for sometime yet, we are tentatively looking into ways of sneak previewing some more new material prior to the release. Keep tuned in as details come to light.

Many of you who follow Grave Forsaken will also be Mortification fans. Make sure you get yourself a copy of "Live Humanitarian" from the Soundmass store. The CD was recorded in August last year right here in Perth, and those who remember that far back will recall that Grave Forsaken opened up proceedings that night. It remains the highlight of my metal career, and I'm thrilled that the gig has been captured on an official Mortification release. Get it.

Before I sign off, I want to indulge in a non music matter. Many of you will know that Grave Forsaken supports the Fremantle Dockers Football Club. It was deeply disappointing to see our coach Chris Connolly resign this week. A lot of people have an opinion of Chris Connolly's coaching ability, but I for one think he has done a brilliant job. From this Dockers supporter - thanks Chris, you're a legend.

Thanks again for checking what we've been up to. As you all should know, we are committed to 100% Christian metal, and making sure we serve our supporters the best we possibly can. Remember, our purpose here on Earth is to serve Jesus. Keep focused on this simple truth, for He does a path and a purpose for you. Rock on.

14/6/07 - Hi all. Just a quick update to let you know that the Albany gig has been postponed. We're hoping to reschedule soon. Good news is that we are playing with Scourged Flesh this Sunday at Clarkson Youth Centre. Should be an awesome evening, so come and check out the show between 4 and 6pm on Sunday 17th June.

It looks like we'll be heading to Blackstump again this year. A huge metal vs hardcore night has been organised featuring heavyweights Mortification and Fearscape. We're planning some other dates while we're over east, and of course we'll let you know about them as soon as they come to light.

Keep rocking everyone and we'll catch you all soon!

4/6/07 - Hi everyone, Vaughan here. There's been some good stuff going down in the Grave Forsaken camp these last few weeks. First of all, we are now the owners of our own cranking PA system. This will make it so much easier for us to take the Grave Forsaken show on the road, as we can provide our own amplification, and won't need to hire a sound person. We plan on utilising this new equipment with heaps more of our own shows around WA!

Work continues to progress well on the writing of new material for an eventual second album, hopefully available sometime in 2008. We had a demoing session with our producer Daniel Holmes this weekend just gone, and let me tell you - the results are exciting.

We're deep in the planning stages of our Eastern States tour in late September/early October. We're still waiting to hear whether our application for Blackstump has been successful, and the tour kind of hinges on that coming together. More details will be revealed as they come to hand.

That's about it at the moment. We're looking forward to rocking out Albany in a few weeks time, and as always we've got a stack of other things going on as well. Keep rocking moshers!

2/5/07 - Just a super quick update to let you all know a new editorial has been added. It's been an intense few weeks for Grave Forsaken (as always these days). We have just come off supporting US band Death And Desire on their Perth tour. We had a fantastic time hanging out with Mark, Trevor and Jayson. You really need to check out www.deathanddesire.com and find out about this awesome band. The tour gave us a chance to play at a couple of different venues, namely the Charles Hotel and Leederville HQ. What a great privelage to play on these stages.

When we haven't been preparing for these shows, we've been spending time fine tuning all the material we've written over the last couple of years. Because it took us a year to record "Beside The River Of Blood" we've got quite a bit of material floating around that we need to perfect. Much of this material will be included on our second album, but we haven't determined when we will actually record the next album.

We are slowly but surely working through the editing phase of the "Death On The Cross" video. We really can't wait to have that available!!

Recently there has been an exciting development in the Grave Forsaken camp. We have formed "The Grave Forsaken Mosher Crew". It is free to join the crew, and there are many benefits. Members will get access to exclusive features, exclusive merchandise and and monthly email newsletter. Don't miss this chance to show you're support of Grave Forsaken and true Christian metal!

As always, don't forget to check out our forum and have a chat. Here's to more in the future!

We continue writing new material that we intend to steadily introduce at coming gigs. Contrary to discussion on the various forums, the follow up to Beisde The River Of Blood won't be appearing in 2007. A 2008 release is likely. Obviously there will be more details as they solidify.

Our video clip shoot for Death On The Cross went very well. Currently the footage is being reviewed, and the editing process will get underway soon. More details as they arise.

Don't forget to check out the forums and our myspace for more news. God Bless and Rock On!

31/1/07 - Greetings metalheads! Well, as usual Grave Forsaken is busy, busy, busy. In an effort to increase the metal assault we've doubled our rehearsal load each week. It's great cause it means more time to practise, fellowship and enjoy each other's company. After the successful year last year, we've entered into a consolidation phase. Working on newer songs, improving our playing ability and generally doing everything possible to grow. We are furiously organising the next set of concert dates, but as is often the case, can't announce anything official until the details are available. Let's just say we're working on a heavy schedule.

We will be shooting our debut video clip in 2 weeks time. We are going to the quarry where the photo shoot for the debut album was taken, and the song being filmed is none other than "Death On The Cross". Catch you all again soon!

God Bless

16/1/07 - G'day everyone - glad you decided to check the site out. We're hard at work rehearsing our all new material. We're in the process of recording Tim's raw drums for pre-production demos of the new songs. Check out the latest editorial for a bit of an insight into this process.

We will be recording a video clip in February. We're going to use the same location that we used for the "Beside The River Of Blood" photo shoot. We keep you waiting in suspense before we reveal which song we will be doing the clip for.

We're working on some exciting live opportunities in the next few months. Stay tuned for details, cause it won't be long before Grave Froesaken hit the stage again.

Don't forget to keep up to date on our three forums. There's the official forum at Centurion Outpost, as well as forums on Undark and Firestream. It's so much fun to catch up with people at those places.

Keep it metal for the Lord and rock on.

5/1/07 - Happy new year to everyone and thanks for dropping by! We're hard at work on new tracks, and are looking forward to some more live opportunities to come our way.

We had a great time playing on New Year's Eve. We played a handful of songs from "Beside The River of Blood", as well as "Warriors Of Light". Thanks to all those people who moshed and made it such a fun gig.

Some new tunes we've recently started work on are "No Eye has Seen" and "The Road To Damascus". They are both thrash tunes, very much in keeping with our current direction. Elias and I (Vaughan) have been spending a lot of time demoing the new songs. I've been spending heaps of time trying to work with some different types of recording software. Many of you will know we use Audacity most of the time, but I have been experimenting with Nuendo and Krystal for a while. This will hopefully improve our demo recordings!

The current list of songs that we're working on is-

Warriors Of Light
Horror And Sadness
Holy Blood
Punishment
Celebrity Judge And The Sinners Part II
Destined For Ascension
No Eye Has Seen
The Road To Damascus
Blood On The Scales
Eternal Destiny

Of course, some of you will have already heard some of these songs live, and some have been works in progress for some time. We can't wait to get them demoed, and then recorded professionally. There is some serious thrash happening.

Don't forget to check out our recently updated myspace page at www.myspace.com/graveforsaken and if you haven't got your copy of "Beside The River Of Blood" head over to www.soundmass.com and order it now!

God Bless and ROCK ON!

22/12/06 - G'day all - We trust you're doing well. Christmas is always a busy time of the year, and it's been go go go for Grave Forsaken. After having awesome shows at Byford Fair and Clarkson Youth Centre, we had the privelage last night of playing at Rowland's 18th party! What a great night. Rowland is a big supporter of Grave Forsaken, and is a regular mosher at all our gigs. It was our honour to play at the party. As a momento of the night, we've put up video footage of Celebrity, with Rowland chipping in for some guest vocals! Check it out at the multimedia section.

The Clarkson gig with Scourged Flesh and In Process was a terrific night. All three bands played well and we had an enthusiastic 50 strong crowd - a record for these Clarkson events. To give you all a bit of a feel for the night, we've put a clip of us playing "The North Wind" on the multimedia page - so go and have a look. Thanks to everyone who turned out and made it such a fun night.

Our Myspace page is being updated in the next few days, and with the update you'll be able to stream 4 complete songs from "Beside The River Of Blood". Make sure you have a look in the next few days. The myspace update will also feature an exclusive clip of "The Calling" from Blackstump. www.myspace.com/graveforsaken

At the moment the only scheduled gig is a private new year's eve function in Bedfordale - but we expect that to change in the next few weeks as we work out our 2007 programme. The new year will bring plenty of opportunites for to catch Grave Forsaken live around Perth.

Don't forget to drop in our forums and have a chat - and if you haven't got your copy of "Beside The River Of Blood" yet - be sure to place an order at www.soundmass.com!

God Bless and Rock On!

15/11/2006 - Hey everyone. We trust you're all doing really well! Thanks for dropping by.

We've got a couple of gigs coming up in the next few weeks. For those of you south of the river, come and check us out at Midday at the Byford Centenary Fair on Sunday November 26. For those of you up north, we'll be playing a gig with our best mates Scourged Flesh and our new Finnish friends In Process at the Clarkson Youth Centre. Check the Live Shows page for all the details. The main member of In Process is in Perth for a mission trip, and the local Christian metal community has put together a special one off line up for this gig. If you're a Perthite, and you love your metal, don't miss this awesome night.

We've begun work in earnest on material for our second album, which we plan to record sometime in 2007. Songs that are really taking shape include "Horror And Sadness", "Punishment", "Warriors Of Light" and "Destined For Ascension". We're happy to tell you that these songs are moving in a more thrash direction, along the lines of the "Harder To Hate" demo that is on "Beside The River Of Blood".

Grave Forsaken was featured on the back cover of the November issue of the NSW Anglican magazine Southern Cross. The mag did a review of the movie "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey", and asked us for our perspective on the metal scene. Thanks a lot to Joseph Smith for involving us in the article.

A huge thanks goes out to all the people all have contacted us via email since the release of "Beside The River Of Blood". You're kind words have been greatly encouraging. Bless you all. Make sure you pick up copies of the new albums from our mates Scourged Flesh, End Of Destiny and Tranfigural Form. Thanks for checking in on the ever crazier Grave Forsaken universe. To be honest, I don't know really where to begin with this update - so much has happened since last update.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Grave Forsaken has signed with Rowe Productions for the release of our debut album "Beside The River Of Blood". The album is now available for $25 from Soundmass. Grave Forsaken are thrilled to be on our favourite label, and look forward to a successful partnership with Rowe Productions. A huge thanks goes to Steve Rowe for having faith in us. If you want a raw slab of honest Christian thrash, look no further than Beside The River Of Blood!

As many of you will realise, we were blessed to be a part of the Soundmass Blackstump metal night last week. We opened up for three of our favourite bands in Synnove, Paramaecium and Fearscape. A huge thanks goes out to Adam from Soundmass and Pete and Matt from Fearscape for getting us on the bill. We made such great friendships with the guys in all 3 bands. Paul from Fearscape even joined the Grave Forsaken touring party and camped with us at Stump. Great times and great memories. We were totally blessed to have Steve Rowe introduce us and announce the release of "Beside The River Of Blood". I'm writing an editorial about the Blackstump experience, so be sure the editorial section for all the details.

We're in the process of starting a webstore for our merchandise. The first item is the skullwing Grave Forsaken T-Shirt. Head over to the merchandise page for all the details on how you can order your own Grave Forsaken shirt.

We've finished the album diary, so if you head over there you can read all about the final weeks of recording. Thanks to everyone who's been following the diary. It was amazing to speak to people at Stump who were fully up to speed with the process!

Look out for the debut album from our great mates Scourged Flesh. They will be releasing their debut album "Released From Damnation" on Rowe Productions in November. I'm listening to an advance promo copy of the album as I type, and I'm telling you it is fantastic. For anyone who likes old school Christian death metal with a full on Jesus message - this is the must have album of 2006. You won't be disappointed.

With all this great news, it would be easy to forget to thank the one who makes it all possible - Jesus Christ. It is so important to us that people realise Jesus is the only reason we do this. We're real guys who love God, and Grave Forsaken is the real expression of our faith in God. If you get nothing else out of visiting our site and listening to our music please get that we believe Jesus died and rose again for us - and that he died and rose again for you. This is more important than any other thing. God Bless you all.

21/9/06 - Hey everyone, Vaughan from Grave Forsaken here. I'm doing a quick update to let you all know we set out on our journey to Blackstump tomorrow. For those who aren't familiar with the geography of Australia, our home city of Perth is approximately 4000 km's away from the Blackstump festival. That's about the same distance as New York to Los Angeles. It will take us 5 days driving 10 hours a day to make it there. it's going to be a looooonnnnng drive - but we can't wait.

As a special taste of what's to come on our debut album "Beside The River of Blood", we've uploaded a couple of minute long clips for you to check out. The tracks we've put up are "Death On The Cross" and "The North Wind". Those of you familiar with the original EP versions will notice a huge jump in production quality. Please head over to our forum to give us your thoughts on the two new sound clips!

With the new album coming out, we've decided to take down the old video and audio footage of the band. That stuff was a good snapshot of where we were at as a band 18 months ago, but we don't feel it represents where we are at right now in 2006, and with a lot of new visitors coming to the site, it's important we give everyone the best material on offer. Thanks to everyone who has supported the band by downloading the multimedia available thus far. Be on the lookout for some quality video and audio material in the coming months.

Because we'll be driving across our great country the next two weeks, there won't be any updates until the first or second week of October. Let me assure you however - the next update will be a big one. All going to plan, we'll be able to give you all the ordering details for the debut album "Beside The River Of Blood", plus the full wrap of Stump, plus 1 or 2 other surprises.

Always remember - when you're called, you just can't fight it. If God has a plan for you - He will be faithful to the end. We couldn't have got through the last two months without the certainty that God was with us. He is with you too.

God Bless
Grave Forsaken

18/9/06 - Vaughan here again - just wanted to thank everyone who turned out for the show at Gosnells Anglican last night and made it such a great night. The band had a ball and it was great to unleash the Blackstump setlist on all our Perth friends prior to the big trip!

The great news out of the evening is that the church were really impressed and want us back more often. We hope we can build a real presence in the Gosnells area through playing regular shows at the church. So thanks again to everyone who helped us tonight. A big thanks must go to my 3 bandmates - Tim, Matt and Elias. Tim spoke and drummed superbly tonight and I was just so impressed. matt played bass like an animal and Elias shredded himself silly. Well done guys.

Please keep us in your prayers as we embark on the big trip over to Blackstump

Oh and GO FREO!!!!!!!!!!

17/9/06 - Hey all, just gearing ourselves up for the pre tour show at Gosnells Anglican, corner of Hicks and Dorothy Streets, Gosnells. It should be available by the first or second week of October!

As well as our official forum, there is a new Grave Forsaken forum on www.undark.net - so check it out. As well as us, there is a host of other bands official forums over there, such as Fearscape, Paramaecium, Mortification, Synnove and Temple Of Blood. It's well worth signing up and joining in the fun.

Thanks to Duncan and Ben for the huge effort it took to get the album ready for manufacture this week, and we've gotta say, we're pretty pleased with the results. It's a serious slab of Christian Heavy Metal!

Catch you all soon at a gig or on the forums!

1/9/06 - Hope everyone likes the slightly altered website layout, we've been doing a bit to bring it up to date as a lot of the photo's were from 2004 before.

Just a quick note to let everyone know we are doing our very last recording session for the debut album today. We're really excited about wrapping this thing up and getting it out there for you all.

There will be a Metal Service at Gosnells Anglican church on Sunday 17th Sepetember. See you all there!

30/8/06 - Hey everyone - What a great couple of weeks we've had!

Firstly, the Mortification tour was just the best time of our lives. It was such an honour to hang out with Steve and the gang from Mortification. We all had a great time.

The two concerts Mortification played were fantastic. It was great to see a good crowd up front moshing at both gigs. It was an honour for Grave Forsaken to open for Mortification on the Friday night show at IMAX. We played one of our best ever gigs and had a great time.

I can't thank everyone involved with the tour enough for all their help. Ever person put in a big effort and we are eternally grateful. Thanks to Steve, Kristy, James, Elias, Matt, Sarah, Tim, Liz, Dave, Daniel, Todd and Rowland for all thier awesome hard work. Anyone who I've forgotten, email me and tell me off - you all deserve a big thankyou.

The album is nearly done. I'm currently putting together a few more diray entries. All things going to plan (which they have been lately), we should finish vocals this Friday. All the music is recorded, and we're probably over halfway through vocals. Then it has another week of mixing before a final week of mastering. All going to plan we should have copies available for Blackstump (and just before for our hometown supporters). A huge thaks has to go to Ben for all the work he's put in. It's hard to be objective about your own material, but I THINK it's sounding pretty good.

Of course the other thing we're busy with is the Blackstump tour. I can reveal the setlist will be the entire album in running order. We can't wait to play with Fearscape, Synnove and Paramaecium. What a dream year it has been.

Keep an eye out for the album diary to be updated in the very near future, and keep rocking for eternity.

19/7/06 - G'day everyone. Check out the updated Debut Album Diary for all the latest details. Orignally slated to be called "Death On The Cross", we're now looking into another name for the record. Check out our forum for details about how YOU can help come up with a name for the album! We expect to have the album ready for release in mid September. Keep checking this site and the forums for details.

We are busy with the album and rehearsing for the big shows with Mortification and then Blackstump. It's a full on time, but we're more than happy to find ourselves in this position.

Till next time God Bless and Rock On!

24/6/06 - Welcome to this huge update. There is lots of news today so read on:

We are pleased to announce the formation of Metal Mission Australia. This is huge news for us, and we would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Adam from Soundmass, and Pete and Matt from Fearscape for their huge assistance in making this possible. We have been working so hard on this album and can't wait for you all to hear it. It consists of 100% unashamed Jesus Metal.

We'd also like to thank everyone who came out to the gig at the SJ Rec Centre on Friday night. Our great mates Testified made a terrific debut. We were so pleased for them, it was some brutal death metal that had everyone think "Scrolls Of The Megilloth". Seriously good. Thanks also to our terrific American friends Stone For Goliath. You're efforts won't be fogotten dude, you are tireless workers for the Lord, and we couldn't have done it without you! Thanks to all the punters who showed up to rock out. If you go to James "Mosher" Clarke's website at http://www.pbase.com/jameslclarke you will find pictures from the gig, as well as some other pics of Grave Forsaken, Testified and Stone For Goliath. If the 3 cool dudes I got a pic with are reading, the photo is up there fellas.

Phew - that is definitely the biggest batch of news I have ever posted. Praise God that our little band is getting the unbelievable opportunity to perform alongside such talent. Our only desire when we started this two years ago was to spread the gospel any way we could. We just want to give all the glory to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He has made this party possible.

God Bless and Rock On!

7/6/06 - Hey everyone - welcome to the official Grave Forsaken website. As always there's lots happening, so lets get straight into it!

We have drums mixed and ready to go for the first album. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Duncan at Mirrorsounds for his hard work on the drums - You rule Duncan. The process has taken some time, however you can be sure we are doing everything we can to get this album recorded. We're very happy with the vibe of the demos we've done for the album, and now we're ready to hit the studio and record the guitars and vocals properly. We are now looking at a September release date. The months really do seem to fly by when you're working on a project of this nature, so thanks for your patience everyone!

We've got the SJ gig with Testified and Stone For Goliath coming up Friday week, the 16th. We've done heaps of promo, so we hope for a good turnout. If you're a local Perthite, check out the Live Shows page for more details. We're very excited about playing with our good friends Testified and Stone For Goliath. It will rock.

The most recent KAIO gig and metal service went really well. It was great to play with Moral Treason at KAIO again, and hopefully there's more to come in the future. The Anglican Church where we do the metal service wants us to play a morning service sometime soon. Surely heavy metal in a traditional Anglican church service would have to be some kind of first in our state. More details to come on when this will take place! Just a side note on the metal service, Elias has been in negotiations with a church in Gosnells to start running a metal service there as well. Here's hoping it comes together.

We are eagerly awaiting news of our Blackstump fate. If we were to get the gig, it would be the biggest thing for us so far. Be sure that as soon as we find out what is happening, we'll let all you guys know. Thanks so much to Adam from Soundmass and the guys from Fearscape for supporting our bid to play at the festival. Even if things don't work out, these people of our total gratitude.

Now I know we're still working hard on our debut album, but you'll be pleased to hear that Elias and I have made significant progress on demoing songs for the second album, which we hope to start work on before the end of the year (given how long the first has taken us, we want to start on the second ASAP). So far tracks demoed are "Warriors Of Light", "Destined For Ascension", "Horror And Sadness", "Eternal Destiny", "Holy Blood Spilt Upon The Earth" and "Harder To Hate". Some of you will be familiar with a few of these songs from our live sets. The material is in the power thrash vein, more or less a development on what you'll hear on the first album. Other songs we plan to demo for the second album are "Blood On The Scales", "Old School Rules" and "Celebrity Judge And The Sinners Part II". At this stage the album should be 10-12 songs in length.

Phew, that's gets you all up to date. Don't forget to check out the forrum and the myspace page for up to the minute news. God Bless and Rock On!

13/5/06 - Thanks for popping by and checking out the latest from Grave Forsaken. As always, we've had a busy few weeks. Read on...

Today we went to Bickley Quarry and Byford Nature Trail for an official photoshoot. Our photographer, James "Mosher" Clarke, took nearly 300 photo's, meaning we are going to have some rippers. These aren't just your normal backs to the wall, stand up straight kind of photo's. No, at one point Tim nearly had Matt and I dying of vertigo by encouraging the band to climb a 30 metre high cliff face. It's a risky business playing Jesus metal, but the photo's will look sensational! We can't wait to go through the pics and post some right here on graveforsaken.com

To add to the excitement, we got photographed for the local newspaper, and they will be running a story on the band in the coming weeks. That should increase increase our exposure massively. Big thanks to Colleen Rankin for helping us out!

Tim has been working extremely hard on a myspace page for the band. Great effort Tim. Be sure to check it out at www.myspace.com/graveforsaken . Already we are getting a lot of hits and have 31 friends at last count. Tim will be getting his hands on some exclusive material and photo's for the myspace page, so it will be worth visiting in conjunction with the official site.

Those who regularly visit the forum will already know this, but there are 3 more gigs booked since the last update. The first of these gigs is next Saturday night with Stone For Goliath at KAIO, Northbridge. Check out the live shows page for details! Very exciting is the live debut of our good friends Testified in June. They will be opening up for Grave Forsaken and Stone For Goliath at the SJ Rec Centre.

The band has sent in a submission for the Black Stump Festival in Sept/Oct. We find out in the next three weeks if we have been accepted. This is a huge opportunity for us, and we're very keen to go. God willing, we will.

Be sure to check out our forum over at Centurion Outpost (click FORUM on the menubar for the link). There's been heaps of posts in the last few months and were looking to break the 1000 post mark in the next few weeks. Thanks to everyone who is participating in the forums, you are a blessing and an encouragement to us.

Until next time God Bless and Rock On!

14/4/06 - Hey all, Vaughan here with the latest from the Grave Forsaken camp.

Saturday nights gig at KAIO went well. Check out the latest debut album diary update for some info and pictures.

It's been great getting to know the guys from Testified, a new Christian metal band from Perth's northern suburbs. We expect to be doing a lot of work with Testified in the coming months, and hopefully years. We are actually going to make a Testified section on this site so you all can find out a bit more about them. Keep an eye out for that soon.

Don't forget to check out the forum for the latest updates. Any breaking news tends to be posted there before it gets on the site. Not to mention we can all talk metal with each other as well!

We'd like to thank everyone for the awesome support we've received these past few months. It's been a busy time for us, and it's just great to have such a network of people working around us. From all the guys in Grave Forsaken, thanks a million and God Bless.

17/3/06 - G'day all, just a news update today. It's been another busy week for Grave Forsaken, with the album and rehearsals to keep us occupied. We had a really good jam on Wednesday night, and the feeling was very positive. Regular visitors will know we've mucked around a bit with Black Snake by Bloodgood in the past, well now we've got in place. We look forward to unveiling our version of it at the next gig!

We've been spending a lot of time getting the album tracks ready for the first phase of mixing and mastering, and they really are starting to take shape. Our current goal is to get the recording finished by the end of April, which will then allow a June release by the time the booklet and reproduction is done

For anyone who's interested, don't forget our rehearsal next Saturday morning the 25th March at Serpentine Jarrahdale Rec Centre - it'd be great to see a few of you there!

While not Grave Forsaken related, we just wanted to send our regards to our friends Chris and Amanda in Brisbane, who will be having their first child very shortly. We had a very successful meeting with the people who will be mastering the project for us, and all is looking positive there. Now all the groundwork is in place, we are super keen to get this thing out!

Our artist Ari has been working hard to get the cover artwork ready for us. We can announce that the working title for the album is "Death On The Cross" and the cover concept that Ari has come up with is fantastic. Ari also worked on our EP 2nd release cover, so check that out to get an idea of his style.

If you're interested in some more insight to the project, be sure to check out the editorials. Tim has submitted two ripping columns going through his experiences recording the album. They are candid and insightful (even I got a few surprises when reading them. I thought I knew everything everyone thought in this band!). Good stuff Tim.

We had to delay our jam at the Serpentine Jarrahdale Rec Centre until Saturday 25th March at 9 am. If anyone is interested in coming along to hang out feel free. We'll be sound checking some new material as well. Give us a call or an email for more details.

That gets you all up to speed for now. Thanks for checking out the website. I've got a few things to report on this update. First of all, it's been great to have Matt back from South America. We really missed him while he was away and it's awesome to have him back on the bass. Welcome back bro!

Last Saturday night we had the Midsummer Mosh. It was great to get some local Perth Christian music fans together and have a barbecue and some good fellowship. Grave Forsaken set up and played a short 6 song set. The songs played were "Destined For Ascension", "Play It Loud", "The North Wind", "Death On The Cross", "Light The Hall"and "Harder To Hate". Also making a surprise guest appearance was our good friend Timothy Beckingham. He played some acoustic tunes off his debut album "Not Quite Perfect". Email freetrogdor@yahoo.com.au for details on how to get a copy. A great time was had by all - thanks for contributing to a memorable night!

The next booked gig is at KAIO on April 15th. We're having a rehearsal there on March 11th to check out the facility. Stay tuned for more details.

Now that Matt is back the album process is soon to get under way again. As more details emerge we'll keep you tabbed.

Both myself and Elias have had some gear upgrades recently. I acquired a Gibson X-Plorer and Elias has purchased a new Jackson with Duncan Designed pickups. Both guitars sound hot and really add an edge to the sound.
